Eric grew up in central Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois. He lived in Austin, Texas, for a number of years,
but always considered Chicago his second home. In 2004
Eric returned to the Midwest and now calls Chicago home.
Eric brings a varied background in construction, carpentry,
transportation planning and project management to his work at Wolbrink
Architects Chartered. For several years he
was self-employed in Austin, Texas responsible for the
design and construction of an array of outdoor features and interior
remodeling. Working with the City of Austin as a transportation
planner in the Bicycle and Pedestrian Program, he was able to use his interest
in cycling to design and construct bike lanes, sidewalks, mixed-use paths, and
bicycle parking facilities.
Eric tolerates the winter in Chicago, refusing to let weather
stop him from riding a bike. He also
enjoys photography and music. Eric plans to get his Masters in Architecture in
the fall of 2006.
